Course Description
This course covers the fundamentals of planning, design, and
operation of
transportation facilities. We will discuss the various topics including
road vehicle
performance, geometric design of highways, traffic flow and queuing
theory,
highway capacity analysis, traffic control and analysis, and travel
demand and
traffic forecasting.
Course Objective
The objective of this course is for students to develop a
basic
understanding of the principles of highway engineering and traffic
analysis.
They should be able to apply these concepts and principles to
analyze
various traffic characteristics and problems.
